Pedal Power App Concept

The goal of this project was to create a concept app for the Pedal Power Association. This app needed to show users nearby routes, dangers on routes, route ratings, difficulty of route and so on. This app needed to motivate people to do more cycling and get outdoors! It should also replace telephonic and forum based methods the Pedal Power Association used to give it's members route recommendations.

The onboarding is designed to excite users and get them engaged with the app, which in turn will get them engaged in cycling.

The home screen displays a number of popular routes and also shows routes on a map close to the user's location. There is a section for browsing routes, that can be filtered and routes liked.

Each route profile displays the route on a map, shows the average time, distance, elevation gain, surface, gallery, hazards and reviews for the route.

The user can also choose to start, like or share the route.

When the user starts the route he can choose from two ways to show the navigation and instructions. The view on the left was created specifically so that the user can see exactly where he is supposed to be on the route, this makes navigation much easier, especially while the user is driving and can't spend to much time looking at his phone or watch.

The user can see his performance stats while he navigates and reported hazards will pop up as they are approached. The user can also log hazards he encounters on the route, or give an emergency alarm in case of danger.

The app is also accessible on a smart watch, as most cyclers would rather wear their watch and navigate than use their phone.
This was a concept app project completed for my UCD course through Red and Yellow Creative School of Business.
